oh, the places you'll go

Bolivia, Brasil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, various Caribbean islands, and come Thanksgiving: Guatemala.

When did the travel bug bite me?

There's just something about traveling. You gain so much more seeing new things and talking to new people than you do sitting at home forever. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Some go their entire lives without ever leaving their hometown. But they're completely okay with that. I am not that person though. For me, the world is my playground and I want to explore it all. I am not a very materialistic person. I don't need the newest tech-y gadget or designer clothes, but I do need my foreign country fix. One of the most exciting parts of traveling is letting my imagination run wild beforehand. Daydreaming about how this new place will look, what I will be doing, where I will stay and the people I will come across. I feel like I take a little piece from every country I've visited. Each place has a special little area in my heart, especially Bolivia. There are different images that are forever embedded in my mind's eye that I (hope) will never ever forget. I've been saying lately that if I never get married, I will spend the rest of my days working as a nurse overseas-kinda like a modern-day Mother Teresa but much less saintly.

ayyy

Where to begin. Life stuff is hard! Welcome to being an adult I guess...today was rough. I let life get me down. I threw a pity party and cried until I had a massive headache. During times like these I need to remember that there is a solution for EVERYTHING except death. Sounds pretty good to me. I'm going to get my butt in gear and do what I need to do to get by. It's so easy to fall into a pit of self-misery. For now I gotta focus on what is important: school, paying for school, and my family. I got this, one step at a time.
