I could live in the past if I allowed myself to. As much as I pride myself to be strong and constantly moving forward to bigger and better things, at the same time I am guilty of wallowing in a sort of longing misery. My "ENFP" colors show in times like these when I listen to music that reminds me of past memories, look at pictures, and dwell. Let's see. This time last year I was trekking through South America. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this time, last year. I can relive almost every moment, every scene that I passed through is forever embedded into my mind. It's beautiful in a way. Bolivia has never strayed very far from my mind since I've been back. (Crazy how it hasn't even been a year yet.) Yet these memories bind me to the past. I have only myself to blame, I think about these things and relive these memories so I feel closer to them. I imagine my little journey so that I feel closer to Bolivia, Peru, the experience, the person I was with...I can't have those back obviously, but in my ever-active imagination I can.
I close my eyes and envision the principal plaza in Cuzco. I feel the breeze on my face on the back of a motorcycle going through the Sacred Valley. I can remember walking through the stark white city of Sucre. Bus rides through the Bolivia countryside, valleys, mountains...Cochabamba on a sunny warm day (which was nearly every day). My grandma's house in La Paz. Snuggling under blankets on cold Bolivian nights. The breathtaking ruins at Machu Picchu....memories that are forever embedded in my mind's eye.
Anyways...later I'm gonna read this and think "oh Briana you're such a sucker." Right now I don't care though, at least I'm being true to myself.
