Dear L

I wish I could restore self-worth. I wish I could change mentalities. But I cannot fight your battles for you. I am not your therapist, nutritionist, or God. I am merely a person who has struggled with some of the same things you do.  I know about self-loathe, addiction and craving control. I've been there. It is hell. This is why I wish I could make your problems go away. I wish there was some sort of secret wisdom I could share, or a magical equation of steps to make you all better. But there is no such thing. Though so similar, our journeys are at the same time drastically different. We all have our own ways of coping with things. Eating disorders are funny. One could self-heal, the other could struggle for a lifetime. So what can I do? I can be a good friend. Build you up, and share my optimism for life. I can pray for you. I can listen. I can care.

I wish I could make the world's problems go away.

But I can't.
