I made a decision today based on instinct. Well, there were logical components, but what really drove my decision was my gut -what I knew deep down inside to be right. I'm still in the weepy emotional stages but I feel proud of myself and I think I made the right decision (although inevitably, since this was concerning a potential relationship, I question that). The thing is, I asked God from the very beginning to reveal this guy's character to me. I asked Him to give me discernment so that I would make the right decision. And I believe He did.
I've decided a while ago that I alone have no clue what's best for me, Without God, I am lost. I only want His will for my life. So knowing that, it's become a little easier to sit back and let God take the reins. As was the case with this guy. Yes, I liked him and yes, he was funny, engaging and brilliant. We could talk on the phone for hours. We really seemed to hit it off. We had so much in common and even shared a common interest of Downton Abbey! (ha).
But God must have bigger plans.
This guy was great. But what I found in getting to know him didn't quite correlate with what I wanted in my life. There were also a few very very subtle red flags. All this coupled with the fact that it was long distance. Sigh...
But you know what? If this is what God wants, then I'm okay with it.
Thank you for guiding me God. Thank you for helping me be strong.
